Belize's remote Sibun River is a packrafting dream and a Central American gem. In a small country like Belize, it is hard to believe that there are still rivers that are inaccessible and rarely traveled! Well, think again! The Sibun is it. Right in the center of the country with no road access, deep down in a 1000ft steep-walled valley in the middle of the jungle, the Sibun gets almost no visitors. You may recognize the river from 1986's movie The Mosquito Coast which was filmed here.
We scouted the river in 2020 and will be offering it in 2021. Stay tuned for details. It's a 2-day hike in to this remote river and then 3 or 4 days on the river depending on conditions. We'll offer the trip as a week-long adventure with the option to add some relaxing days out on Belize's most remote keys at the end of the adventure.
(Note: this is a suggested itinerary only. Conditions on each trip may vary)
